THE EDGEMOOR GROUP is a single Benefice consisting of eleven rural churches stretching from Knowstone, Rose Ash and the Ansteys to the east, across the southern edge of Exmoor to Charles and High Bray to the west. Each of our Churches has its own character and traditions but all seek to express a warm, prayerful and loving faith in the communities we serve. Here you will find information about our churches, our services and activities and how to make arrangements for baptisms, weddings and funerals.
We would love to welcome you to any of our churches. Wherever you find yourself in life, just come as you are and see what difference God can make. All are welcome, all are welcome.
We are seeking a Team Rector to join a committed Ministry Team, lay and ordained. The post presents a fantastic opportunity for an imaginative and creative priest to work with a group of parishes seeking to deepen their work together as a Mission Community, to bring together churches and communities, and to grow in faith and discipleship. Donations from parishes and individuals within the Edgemoor Mission Community have raised £2,847.50 thus far! AND, Charles Church held a Variety Show on June 18 which raised an additional £1,840, making the total raised for Ukraine thus far £4,687.50!
Simon Rooksby, Chairman of Computers for Charities, a charity that focuses on assistance to the needy in war-torn areas of Eastern Europe by working through the churches there, is in Ukraine now, having traveled out there two weeks ago with supplies. He has sent the following email to me today:
"I am still in the Ukraine. But pleased we have managed to travel around to areas and places of need unhindered. Since going south of Hungary, temperatures have soared. Yesterday 56c. Air con has died on the van and suspension impaired because of the roads or lack of them. Have visited churches in Moldova & Ukraine to preach and pray for people. Witnessing many healings of sickness. Which is good news. It's hard to describe apart from the stoic nature of the Ukrainian's. And as such aiming to head back next week. Then return again in around 8 weeks time.”
Our support over these past 4 months has made these trips possible. Thank you to all who have participated.

The Bells are back at East Anstey!
East Anstey's six bells arriving back in East Anstey after major refurbishment at Taylor's Foundry in Loughborough. They include one which is a 15th century medieval bell, one of the very oldest in Devon.
Many helpers were needed to get the bells back into the tower and then up into the belfry, which was quite a struggle! Then Keith Bavin, Bell Captian and his team celebrated the safe return of the bells with a resounding demonstration of what has been sorely missed throughout the village.
For more details about the project to refurbish the bells click here.
