About our Church by Tony Bawden, Churchwarden
All Saints Church at High Bray is in the parish of Brayford with the River Bray running through the village. All Saints Church is on a high point surrounded by picturesque valleys and woodlands.
The Church has been on this hill site since Saxon times, but thoroughly restored in 1878 and has many interesting features. The porch has stone seats and inside the Church there are four bays and a wagon roof, one of the pillars has a bell ringer with a rope and twined around the column.
The Churchyard is well looked after by local people and is a wonderful site each spring.
We have three services each month and we work closely with Charles church and the Methodists at Brayford.
A brief history of the Church of All Saints
The church is a Grade 1 listed building which mainly dates from the fifteen and sixteenth century. The font is Norman in age with a zig-zag frieze to the top of the circular bowl with a later scalloped design added to the base.
